More info

The exhaust temperature sensor (ATS) is designed to recognize the flame, as well as to fix the unacceptably high temperature of the exhaust gases.

Replacing the exhaust temperature sensor.

Dismantling.

1. Disconnect electrical connections.

2. Remove the cable harness brackets from the edge of the burner head (if necessary, sketch the position of the brackets).

3. Loosen the screw connection of the clamp and pull out the exhaust temperature sensor.

Installation.

1. Insert the exhaust temperature sensor at the head of the burner.

2. Secure it with the clamp and screw. Tightening torque screw clamp 2.5Nm ± 10%

3. Secure the sensor wiring harness by holding the brackets on the edge of the burner head. At the same time pay attention to laying the cable between the brackets without tension.

NOTE

In the case of external mechanical defects of the exhaust temperature sensor, it is possible to replace it without additional work. If there is a visible thermal defect, or if mechanical defects are not visible despite the error message, then additional work is needed. This means visual inspection of the burner, exhaust lines, flame tube, and heat exchanger fins (internal surface). It is necessary to pay attention to the unusual amount of soot, fuel residues and coking. If this is the case, it is necessary to clean the nodes. In this case, the burner must be additionally checked for any thermal damage and, if necessary, replaced.

ATTENTION! With an exhaust temperature sensor, there is a ceramic electronic assembly that requires careful handling! It is imperative to avoid tensile loads of the sensor cable on the sensor head during installation and operation of the heater. In order to avoid damage to the Teflon cable insulation, it is necessary to avoid sharp bends of the cable to the sensor head. After successful installation, do not pull the sensor by the cable! If the repair requires the dismantling of the sensor, it is replaced by a new one. During installation, it is necessary to pay attention to the state of the mica disc (insulation) on the sensor, free fit of the cable brackets of the exhaust temperature sensor, as well as free cable routing from the sensor to the control unit.

ATTENTION! Cable exhaust temperature sensor is made as a high-temperature resistant wiring with Teflon coating. The material is resistant to prolonged temperatures up to 185 ° C, but is sensitive to external mechanical stress. Before the final choice of the place of installation of the heater, we recommend to analyze for possible damage to the cable with stones, etc. If damage to the installation site cannot be ruled out, then it is necessary to protect the exhaust sensor cable, for example, with a suitable jacket.
