Webasto Overheating sensor 1322850A

The overheat limiter measures the temperature of the heater in the heat exchanger fin zone and protects the heater from unacceptable overheating during operation. It blocks the operation of the heater at a temperature of heated air over 150 ° C and the surface temperature of the heater (housing) over 80 ° C, resulting in interruption of the fuel supply and shutdown of the heater, putting it into purge mode. An error code is issued to the control body. To restart the heater, you must turn it off and on.

Overheating sensor diagnostics

When checking the resistance of the overheating sensor with a multimeter, the obtained values ​​should be compared with this graph. Characteristics of the temperature sensor AT 2000ST lie in the range from 10 to 30 ° C.

Overheating sensor replacement.

Webasto Overheating sensor 1322850A SUITABLE FOR 12-24V:
  • Webasto Air top 2000ST
  • Webasto Air top 2000STC
Dismantling:
    1. Remove the heater.
    2. Remove the housing parts.
    3. Remove the heat insulating spacers from the heat exchanger.
    4. Disconnect the X5 connector from the control unit.

ATTENTION! Do not pull the wiring.

  1. Remove the overheating sensor with a suitable tool from the fins of the heat exchanger
  2. Remove the overheating sensor.
 Installation:
    1. Check the overheating sensor.
    2. Bring the overheating sensor into the installation position and insert it by hand.

ATTENTION!Do not short circuit the sensor wiring to the clamp / heat exchanger.

  1. Verify that the sensor is installed correctly in the groove on the coil fin.
  2. Connect plug X5 to the control unit. The harness from the sensor should be located parallel to the edges of the heat exchanger.
  3. Install the heat insulating spacers on the heat exchanger.
  4. Assemble the housing parts.
  5. Install the heater.
