More info

Glow pin / flame sensor.

The glow plug also functions as a flame sensor. The incandescent pin is an electrical resistance and is located in the burner from the side turned to the flame. During start-up, he ignites the fuel-air mixture in the combustion chamber. In the role of a flame sensor, it functions as a low-resistance resistor with a positive temperature coefficient, the resistance of which varies depending on the heating of the flame. Signals are sent to the control unit and processed by it. The flame sensor monitors the presence of the flame for as long as the heater is on.

Check the resistance of the glow plug / flame sensor.

ATTENTION! When checking any component of the heater removed from it, as a rule, it is necessary to disconnect the component being checked from the control unit.

When checking with a digital multimeter, the following electrical parameters must be observed for the glow plug / flame sensor:

Replacing the glow plug / flame sensor.

Dismantling.

1. Remove the cover.

2. Remove the gasket.

3. Remove the control unit.

4. Remove the air blower.

Note: Operations from the 5th to the 10th should be carried out if the heater has a burner without a hood, and from 11th to 14th a burner with a blend.

5. Remove the torch retaining clip with a lever.

6. Remove the glow plug / flame sensor sleeve from the heat exchanger by pushing it.

7. If necessary, carefully bend the safety cover of the glow plug cable / flame sensor on the combustion chamber.

8. Remove the burner.

9. Unscrew the screw.

10. Remove the glow plug / flame sensor from the burner.

11. Remove the EJOT FDS SF screws.

12. Remove the glow plug / flame sensor sleeve from the heat exchanger by pressing it and the burner with the hood from the combustion chamber.

13. Unscrew the screw.

14. Remove the glow plug / flame sensor from the burner with the hood.

15. Work with the removed components.

Installation.

Note: Operations from the 1st to the 5th should be carried out if the heater has a burner without a hood, and from the 6th to the 13th it is necessary to carry out a burner with a hood.

1. Insert the glow plug / flame sensor into the burner (with the cable in the direction of the hole for the sleeve) and secure with a screw.

2. Tighten the screw to a torque of 0.8 ± 0.8 Nm.

3. Install the burner and insert the glow plug / flame sensor into the heat exchanger. If the safety cover is folded down, bend it back.

4. Run the glow plug / flame sensor cable under the safety strip and through the hole in the heat exchanger housing.

5. Secure the burner with the latch.

6. Insert the glow plug / flame sensor into the burner with the hood (cable in the direction of the hole for the sleeve in the hood) and fasten it with a screw.

7. Pass the cable of the glow plug / flame sensor through the hole in the blend.

8. Tighten the screw to a torque of 0.8 ± 0.08 Nm.

9. Screw the burner with the hood into the combustion chamber.

10. Insert the fuel intake sleeve into the heat exchanger housing.

11. Secure the hood and the combustion chamber with EJOT FDS screws.

12. Tighten the EJOT FDS SF screws to 2.5 ± 0.25 Nm.

13. Pass the glow plug / flame sensor cable through the heat exchanger and put a sleeve on it.

14. Install air blower.

15. Install the control unit.

16. Put on the gasket.

17. Install the cover.
